The Fender Offset Mustang Bass Sonic Blue is a four-string bass guitar featuring an alder body, a pao ferro fingerboard and a Sonic Blue finish. The Mustang Bass is an enduring bass design since 1964, and this new updated short-scale model includes P-Bass and J-Bass pickups to deliver a flexible, yet thunderous bass tone.
Combined with a smooth playing feel and slick visual style, this Mustang is designed for pronounced playing comfort thanks to short scale, so students, beginners, smaller players and anyone who enjoys the easily reachable range of a short-scale bass will enjoy it. The "PJ" pickup configuration offer great tonal versatility with a seismic split single-coil Precision Bass middle pickup and growling Jazz Bass bridge pickup. A three-way toggle pickup switch gives you either the bridge or neck pickup alone, or both.
This guitar features a modern neck designed for comfort and performance with a contemporary “C”-shaped profile, a 9.5” fingerboard radius and medium jumbo frets. A hardtail four-saddle bridge ensures solid tuning stability, precise intonation and increased sustain. A special neck plate engraved with an Fender “F” logo offers a classic design element for Fender instruments.
