Reviews indicate that the G&L Tribute Kiloton is all about the pickup. The pickup is indeed HOT. But what I was also looking for was a quality passive bass with a jazz neck (but no JJ pickup configuration). This is my perfect guitar. But hang on. It has more. There’s sustain which really lets each note ring out true and long. And the three-way switch lets the pickup shine with three very different tones; similar to a P (series) and a J (single coil) and the smoother parallel setting. This is effectively three quality passive basses in one. What a bargain!
