The Music Store Gig-Bag Superior (Classical Guitar) is cushioned with 30mm of padding guaranteeing that your guitar reaches its destinations looking exactly the same as it did when you packed it away. The large front storage compartment gives you plenty of space to pack all of your essentials such as spare strings and music. There is also an additional inner pocket within the front storage compartment.
The main features of the Music Store Gig-Bag Superior (Classical Guitar) include:
I bought this for an orchestra sized acoustic guitar (Kremona M15) which fit perfectly (about a few millimetres of extra space between the headstock and the top of the case). The padding is not 30 mm as described, but closer to 25mm which is more than enough in my opinion as they use a semi-rigid impact-resistant foam. The padding is all around the case, sides, front and back and since it's pretty rigid, creates a good set of "walls" around the guitar. It's not a hard case, but you'd need to really apply some force to bend the foam in to make contact with the guitar. The exterior fabric is really rugged and thick and the main zipper looks like it'll last. There's no "interior" pocket inside one of the two exterior pockets as stated in the description, although there is a bit of a 5cm long pass-through "sleeve" at the bottom of the inside of the bag. Not exactly sure what its for, but I can see it being used to secure/store a guitar strap. The neck support foam block is pretty cheaply made, an assemblage of smaller rectangular foam pieces that are enveloped by an almost paper thin fabric. It's still functional though and it's removable/adjustable (velcro). All the handles and straps are made of a nice soft padded pleather and have metal stud-reinforced attachments to the bag. The zippers for the exterior pockets though seem a bit weak and if there's any severe resistance while zipping, I can see the metal zipper pulls bending and/or snapping off if you're not careful.
Really liked all the carrying features, hooks for hanging, hooks for a shoulder strap, zipped area to hide the backpack straps etc. and was quite impressed by the overall choice of rugged materials and the semi-rigid foam padding. If they were to improve the quality of the neck support, the pocket zippers and maybe made the interior fabric a bit softer/more plush, this would be hands down the best gig bag to buy in this price range.
All in all, an amazing value and you won't find anything this durable and protective at this price point. It's a great solid bag that I would say offers sturdy lightweight protection at a step below the hard foam cases.
