MC-2 is a digital distribution amplifier and signal refresher for audio and reference clock signals in AES3 and AES11 format.
The Mutec MC-2 basically works as an AES/EBU distribution amplifier. In addition, the unit offers AES/EBU ID interfaces, allowing conversions between both interface standards. Each standard offers one input, whereby AES/EBU-based signals can be distributed to six outputs and AES/EBU-ID signals to two outputs simultaneously. Using the latest PLL designs and circuitry, the MC-2 handles AES3 and AES3 ID digital audio signals, as well as AES11 digital reference clock signals at all audio-relevant clock frequencies between 32.0kHz and 192.0kHz.
Features of the Mutec MC-2:
AES/EBU and AES/EBU-ID interfaces in one unit
