The Catapult TX4 Audio Snake from Radial is ideal for transmitting analog or digital (AES) audio signals via commercially available Cat 5 / 6 shielded cables. This enables stage technicians to realize uncomplicated audio transmissions over long stage distances or existing network infrastructures.
In general, the Music Store offers catapult boxes in six different configurations (three input and three output modules each). Each input module has four XLR inputs, four XLR thrusts and two Neutrik Ethercon outputs to connect a CAT5 cable to connect an output module. The latter have an RJ45 Ethercon input as well as Thru and two sets of XLR outputs. They can be purchased without sub-snakes or AES signal transformers, with mic isolation transformers for signal splitting between FOH, monitors and recording system, or line-level isolation transformers to eliminate noise. The integrated switch allows each end of the Ethernet cable to be grounded to prevent hum from ground loops.
The TX4 is an input module without transformer.
Also worth mentioning is the solid, powder-coated steel housing, which does justice to every demanding stage routine. A two-sided PCB was used to attach components such as transformers and connectors with double the number of solder points.
