The Sonor SQ1 322 Shell Set NM-MH Birch Satin Pure White is a professional birch drum set with excellent sound characteristics and perfect workmanship. The European birch wood used is characterized by great balance as well as volume and Attack. The three drum shells are tuned to each other using Sonor's established OSM (Optimum Shell Measurement), i.e. the minimally reduced diameters of the shells ensure better tunability and optimum coordination with each other. All SQ1 lugs are equipped with the Sonor Tune Safe System, which prevents the shells from going out of tune. High-end Remo heads (Powerstroke/Ambassador), in combination with the accurate 45° shell ridge, give the Sonor SQ1 excellent focus and clarity. The unique Sound Sustainer technology was developed in collaboration with the automotive industry: A two-component solution of metal and rubber provides complete isolation of the sustainer on Toms and floor toms.
Sonor birch shells: The recipe for the best drum sound
For decades, drum shells made of birch wood have been among the most popular of all, as the sound is balanced and has a great balance of frequencies that can be used for any style of music. At Studio, the Sonor SQ1 drum kit produces clear signals, while in live use it develops a concise Attack and open sound. This is further enhanced by the factory-wound Remo heads.
The Bass Drum consists of 10 layers of birch, the TomToms and floor Tom of the Sonor SQ1 drum set consist of 7 layers. SQ1 drum sets are characterized by resonant vibration and easy tunability. The matt lacquer finish rounds off the overall picture in an extremely harmonious and contemporary way.
Sonor Sound Sustainer
After many years of research by Sonor into optimizing the sound of drums, the innovative Sound Sustainer technology was developed in collaboration with the automotive industry. The intelligent sustainer system consists of a hard rubber buffer attached to the shell. The tom mount or floor tom leg mount is embedded in this buffer. This completely prevents the tom holder or floor tom leg from coming into contact with the drum shell. The result is a very clean and long Sustain and top-class sound development.
