New customers and users of previous Omnisphere versions will get many free and new features with the latest 2.5 update from Spectrasonics!
How do I get this update?
No matter if you are a new customer or a veteran: Version 2.5 is free for all registered Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2 users!
Spectrasonics takes a big step with Hardware Synth Integration: over 30 popular hardware synthesizers from Moog, Dave Smith Instruments, Roland, Korg, Novation, Nord, Access, Studiologic, Sequential and more are now supported and can be used directly with Omnisphere 2.5.
So-called "Hardware Profiles" have been created for each individual synth to allow for a customized workflow.
Thanks to the update, Four Layers can now be set per patch, where each individual patch is equipped with 12 envelopes, 8 LFOS and a double-sized modulation matrix (48 mod. routings).
Added to this are State Variable Filters for the OB-6 hardware profile, allowing blending between lowpass, notch and hippass filter modes. Also on board are over 100 new DSP Oscillator Wavetables based on the supported hardware. Even more flexibility and sound while maintaining good performance.
Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2 also includes a facelift of the interface, which is now easy to use on Retina/4k monitors. In general, the interface is more modern, cleaner and easier to use thanks to the larger controls. The Live Mode page has also been redesigned to provide more relevant information onstage.
The Granular Page has also been redesigned to include a full waveform display and show more detailed grains.
Another new feature is the Windows Multitouch Support. The new Live Mode Page is now able to serve as a fully functional stage interface in full screen on a computer/tablet.
1000 new patches are available to the user in addition to the already huge library.
As the successor to Omnisphere, version 2 brings many detailed improvements to the popular software synthesizer. What excites about Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2 is the extremely extensive sound library with unusual and fantastic synthesizer sounds. A studio standard for music production and sound design. The basis is Spectrasonics unique STEAM engine, which makes the best of sampling and synthesis. Remarkable is the underlying synthesis material of Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2 - more than 50 GB with remarkable microphone recordings of the most unusual objects like the spherical sounds of singing bowls, the buzzing and clicking of light bulbs - up to the burning piano.
With this power synth, you'll discover entirely new dimensions of sound. Combining hybrid real-time synthesis techniques, a unique library of remarkable psychoacoustic sounds and many innovative features never before seen in hardware or software synthesizers, a new sound design era begins. Omisphere 2 is based on Spectrasonics newly developed STEAM engine.
With the updated version of Omnisphere Spectrasonics outdid themselves. There's an overwhelming mass of useful and original sounds ranging from subtle to massive expressions. Omnisphere offers great tweak'ability and even an option to import original samples as rawmaterial for your own sounddesign.
I haven't slept in 4 days due to Omnisphere 2's ability to entrance me with it's fabulous sounds. The interface may not be flashy but it is easily navigable so getting to where you need to be is effortless to access it's amazing capabilities.
It is easily the best VST I have (I'm an Ableton Suite and Cubase Pro user, with a lot of DAW proprietary, Arturia and Native Instruments VST's. Omnisphere is clearly the stand-out instrument from this bunch. I cannot compare it to Serum or Falcon as I don't own or use them, but, for me, this is the best software product I've encountered so far.
Musicstore delivered exactly on time even during this time of Covid 19 lockdown, so many thanks to them for their efforts to provide a flawless service.
