T-Cymbals is the farm girl among cymbal manufacturers - each cymbal is unique, 100 percent handmade and thus by no means an assembly line product. For ten years, the founders designed and marketed cymbals for other manufacturers until finally the decision was made to give birth to T-Cymbals. The Istanbul natives describe themselves as "cymbal fanatics" who not only invest a lot of effort in the production of their custom-made cymbals, but also love to play them themselves.
A cymbal may also be passed-off as 'hand-hammered' when it is pounded into shape by a mechanical hammer operated by a professional. While this can save alot of time and physical stress for the person producing the cymbal, the end product is far less impressive than a cymbal manufactured in the traditional fashion. T-Cymbals make the promise that all of their cymbals are hand-formed, so each released onto the market as a unique piece.
This manufacturing method makes the sound of T-Cymbals darker, generally deeper in tone and somehow more natural. While the tone can certainly be called a matter of taste, one thing that cannot be debated is the fact that T-Cymbals have created their own niche in the cymbal market.
The T-Cymbals "Air" series is constructed from a B25 alloy and the holes arranged in a circle around the center provide a powerful tone with shortened sustain. This series of cymbals sports a rustic look, as if they had just been hammered red-hot by a blacksmith. And that's how they sound; earthy, trashy, and to the point. The "Air" series is best suited for mellow rock or jazz ranges.
