iConnectivity presents mioXM, a reliable and flexible MIDI-USB network interface with dependable technology and intuitive operation to quickly and easily connect large amounts of MIDI gear together - whether in the studio or on stage. It doesn't matter if you are a Mac or PC user, as the mioXL can be used equally effectively on both platforms. Even iOS devices can be used here. Benefit from the ports for USB-MIDI, DIN-MIDI and Ethernet-MIDI, which give you all the freedom to integrate and MIDI hardware of any kind into your setup. Practical are not only the routing settings, but also the possibility to realize connections up to 100m. Compared to the regular possible five meters of a USB connection, this is a big plus for studios that want to network several rooms. Furthermore, the mioXM MIDI interface from iConnectivity works according to the motto Plug & Play, and to reduce the setup time of the interface to a minimum.
Not to forget the Auracle software known from older products, whose ease of use has been retained in the new version, coupled with the deeper configuration options for MIDI merging, filtering, remapping and routing. iConnectivity also offers the ability to store and recall up to 4 presets directly on the interface, quite intuitive and without a computer. The front display provides the clarity, so they are always accurately informed about the activity of the interface.
I use the mioXM as the hub of a hardware-heavy studio. It does have a learning curve (not too difficult) and needs some time to set up but once all is functioning as you want it you can forget it's there - unless you want a different configuration, which is where it's memories come in. And it can be configured in all manner of ways. Only reason not to give it five stars is I haven't had it long enough to comment on reliability.
To be honest, this item is more than I need and I may need to move it on and purchase another item with a built-in audio interface. That said, item is solid, well built and will meet the needs of the right client.
Sadly, having purchased this in £ sterling, I have received - four months on - a surprise demand from the carriers for an extra payment, which I am not willing to make. Hopefully, this can be sorted by DV247, if only to keep their reputation.
I've tried every manufacturers MIDI Interface with varying degrees of success. The mioXM just works, it maybe a little more than the rest but it worth it.
