The AEA RPQ2 is a high-end microphone preamplifier with an enormous gain of up to 81dB, predestined for ribbon and moving coil microphones. Its JFET transistor amplification has been highly tuned to get the maximum result out of these inherently low-level microphone types.
But that's not all! The RPQ2 is also excellent for condenser microphones. When phantom power is switched on, the impedance at the microphone input is reduced to 10kΩ, ensuring optimal signal transfer.
The RPQ2 is also equipped with a semi-parametric air EQ, which can be used to boost the high frequencies, where dynamic microphones are usually weak. In addition, the crosstalk effect can be effectively stopped with a variably adjustable low-cut filter.
Instruments and line signals can also be connected directly to the RPQ2 via DI or line inputs. In addition, only the preamp or only the EQ can be looped in via the insert on the rear panel.
