Befaco 's FX Boy is a cartridge-based multi-effects module developed in collaboration with several manufacturers. Each GameBoy-style card offers an effect that comes in two variants (A/B) and uses just three parameters (X, Y and Dry/Wet). Part of the circuit is a four-band equalizer that can be switched before or after the effect. To change the effect, simply pull out the card while the module is running and insert another one; as long as no card is inserted, the module automatically switches to bypass so that the audio signal is not muted. Each of the seven parameters has its own CV input, the knobs X and Y have an additional attenuator.
