High-quality tonewoods and hardware components were used to convey the authentic look and sound of the 1950s, while the Journeyman '55 Desert Tan finish is considered the lightest level of Fender's relic treatment and represents slight visual signs of use on the instrument. The body is made of two-piece selected ash, while the one-piece neck made of roasted quarter sawn maple without a separate fretboard is the visual highlight of the 1954 Roasted Stratocaster and underlines the authentic feel of the first Stratocaster guitars. With 21 Narrow Tall frets and a 9.5" fretboard radius, the instrument can be played optimally and offers plenty of comfort for extroverted riffs and demanding leads. On top of that, the 07/54 Soft "V" neck profile enables authentic handling for a genuine fifties feeling!

Custom Shop Hand-Wound '54 single-coil Strat
Naturally, the FenderLimited Edition 1954 Roasted Stratocaster Journeyman '55 Desert Tan is equipped with three Custom Shop Hand-Wound '54 Single Strat pickups, which enable the iconic Stratocaster twang. The smooth response with crystal clear highs and a clean tonal character works wonderfully in combination with warm overdrive tones, while the versatile tonal character stays right in your ear. The pickups can be controlled via the 5-way switch - a master volume and two separate tone controls for the neck and mid-range pickups are available for volume and tone control.
