The Fender Vintage Custom 1968 Telecaster Thinline Aged Natural stands for classic tele-feeling and distinctive semi-hollow sounds. This Telecaster with additional resonance chamber offers contemporary features of the late sixties and uses two Twisted Tele Single Coils from the Fender Custom Shop with modern Tele-Wiring. For the construction of the body and neck, however, only high-quality selected woods in the form of ash and maple with excellent resonance properties are used. Of course the Fender Vintage Custom 1968 Telecaster Thinline Aged Natural comes in a Deluxe Hardshell Case with certificate of authenticity.
The Custom Shop chooses especially lightweight ash for the body of the Fender Vintage Custom 1968 Telecaster Thinline Aged Natural and assembles the body from two parts. The 1968 Telecaster Thinline not only saves additional weight thanks to a resonance chamber with an F-hole in the upper part of the body, but also benefits from the striking semi-hollow character of the construction. The neck is made of quarter sawn maple and is connected via the classic 4-way screw connection. With its '60s Style "Oval C" neck profile, the Telecaster Thinline has a distinctive sixties tele-feeling in all positions.
Matching the basic construction, the Fender Vintage Custom 1968 Telecaster Thinline Aged Natural has two hand-wound Custom Shop "Twisted" Tele Single Coils. Both pickups feature historically correct materials such as Alnico V magnets and enameled winding wire and skilfully combine classic tele-twang and growl with the vocal tone of the semi-hollow construction. Thanks to the Modern Tele Wiring, both pickups are easily controlled via a 3-way blade switch and can be connected in parallel, unlike traditional vintage wiring.
The Fender Custom Shop placed special emphasis on a functional, but era appropriate hardware configuration for the Vintage Custom 1968 Telecaster Thinline Aged Natural. Accordingly, the '67 Telecaster Bridge follows the original Telecaster Thinline bridge construction, while Fender "F" stamped tuners in the vintage style of the well-known hardware manufacturer Schaller are used on the headstock. Also visually, the Fender Vintage Custom 1968 Telecaster Thinline Aged Natural with white pearl pickguard and an Aged Natural finish with Journeyman treatment presents distinctive sixties charm.
