With the Gibson Burstdriver Les Paul Standard Lightly Figured Smoky Quartz Gibson presents a particularly versatile interpretation of the legendary Singlecut electric guitar. The Burstdriver circuit, which is powered by two custombucker pickups and integrates an overdrive directly into the electric compartment, provides multi-faceted sounds between angelic cleans and the most brute distortion. The authentic mahogany construction with curly maple top also provides the typical Les Paul feeling, while high-quality hardware in vintage style convinces the equipment with unrestricted functionality.

Neck and body are each made of one piece of mahogany. Hot Hide Glue is used for all wood joints.
Traditionally built Les Paul
For the construction of the Gibson Burstdriver Les Paul, the Gibson Custom Shop relies on the authentic methods of the golden era of guitar making. Accordingly, the one-piece mahogany body carries a curly maple top with a light flame, while the mahogany neck is equipped with a long neck foot and a rosewood fingerboard. Hot Hide Glue is also used for all wood joints, which guarantees perfect vibration development thanks to its glass-hard hardening properties. With the "Medium Chunky" profile, the neck also offers comfortable playability.
The sound of the Burstdriver electronics can be precisely tuned via three trim potentiometers, which can also be operated with a pick.
Custom Bucker and Breast Driver Electronics
Two Gibson Custom Buckers in neck and bridge position are used as pickups on the Gibson Burstdriver Les Paul Standard Lightly Figured Smoky Quartz. Authentic replicas of the legendary PAFs from the golden era of electric guitar, these humbuckers convince with a warm vintage sound that offers the perfect basis for classical blues and rock.
In addition to the classic Les Paul circuit with 3-way toggle and individual volume and tone controls, the Gibson Burstdriver Les Paul also offers the eponymous active electronics, which is activated by pressing the push/push switch in the tone pot of the neck pickup. As a fully analog overdrive with true bypass, the burst driver expands the sound spectrum with multifaceted boost and distortion sounds. The Gibson Burstdriver can be precisely adjusted via three trim potentiometers in the cover of the electronics compartment.
Classic Kluson tuners guarantee a precise and stable tuning.
Vintage Style Hardware
The Gibson Burstdriver Les Paul Standard Lightly Figured Smoky Quartz is completed by high-quality hardware equipment in authentic vintage style. On the body comes the combination of ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic and aluminium stopbar, established by Ted McCarty, which guarantees a precise adjustment of intonation and string position. From here, the strings with the traditional scale length of 24.75" (628 mm) are guided towards the headstock, where Kluson Deluxe tuners ensure precise tuning.
