The Meinl Fibercraft Quinto FCR11BK is a high-quality fiberglass conga with 11" diameter in a black finish with matching black natural heads by Remo. The well-known 4mm thick SSR hoop with its rounded edges makes playing comfortable. The chrome exterior sets an optical counterpoint to the black head and shell. The chrome lugs underlaid with Meinl sound pads are used for attaching the hoop. Accessories such as a bag for small things, a tuning key in L-shape and a bottle of Tune Up Oil are also included.
The Fibercraft series shells are robust, tunable and brilliant in sound. Clearly less sensitive than wood, these congas are not only suitable for studio use but also for road and tour use. Since fiberglass is almost resistant to climatic changes, you don't have to worry about your shells when travelling. At the same time, the premium fiberglass provides excellent resonance characteristics that make this instrument sound completely full and harmonious. Those who use several congas can rely on the patented Conga Savers, which protect neighbouring congas from being damaged by the 10mm tuning screws. These tuning screws are attached to rubber-backed lugs. The complete hardware is kept in a chrome finish. Together with an L-shaped tuning key and an accessory bag, the congas of the Fibercraft series are ideal for live performances.
The natural head of Remo's drum and percussion experts, which is mounted as standard, is kept in noble black. These are from the Skyndeep series and are specially designed for use with congas. Since real natural heads dry out easily with time and heavy use and absorb dirt, Meinl has included a bottle of Tune Up Oil. This allows natural heads to be cleaned and slows down the drying process.
