The Roland JD-XA is a new kind of professional level synthesizer which incorporates both analogue and digital technology to produce unique sounds. The four-part all-analogue section features true analogue filters and a direct dry output whilst the four-part digital engine is powered by Roland’s SuperNATURAL synth technology, and includes an array of impressive effects.
The concept of the JD-XA allows the musician to create an almost endless number of completely new sounds using the analogue/digital processors either individually or in combination.
The backlit pushbuttons, sliders and potentiometers allow easy operation and navigation - even on darkened stages, you always have vision and control over your creative work, not to mention the futuristic look of the keyboard and controls being an attraction by itself.
The 100% analogue tone generator provides soft filters, lively pads, punchy basses, singing solo lead sounds and cutting acid and trance sounds. The multi-mode filter produces an aggressive sound and any modulation will have no stepping or artefacts apparent due to its analogue nature.
The digital sound generation of the JD-XA is based on the Integra-7 and gives the musician a huge portfolio of different sounds, including acoustic pianos, strings, choirs, guitars, nature sounds of any kind, as well as a huge arsenal of sampled electronic sounds and effects form the opulent basic stand available in the JD-XA.
The truly unique aspect of creation with the JD-XA is the already mentioned possibility to layer the analogue and digital sounds in layers, which makes it possible to run the Integra-7 sounds through the analogue filter and influence the sound in a legitimate analogue environment.
The 16 track step sequencer allows you to implement your own ideas in a linear fashion in real-time recording mode or in the old-school style with step recording mode. The advanced control options allow for a single mod source to be routed to four destinations whilst the MIDI and USB connectivity grants plug-in control and interactivity to your DAW.
A MUST-have key for every synthetist!
A remarkable Roland entry after many years of considering analog and hybrid platforms of all brands.
Cheers up!
