Rupert Neve Designs R6

The Rupert Neve Designs R6 500-Series Rack is a 500 Series advanced rack unit that will deliver peace of mind for engineers who demand a higher degree of confidence in their 500 series racks.

The R6 has 150% of the required current for a 6-space chassis in order to prevent the power rails from failing under a higher than expected load. It is equipped with LED current metering to help the user to monitor and troubleshoot problematic modules. The internal power supply has, itself, been carefully designed and is double-shielded as to avoid any significant magnetic induction in any of the channel positions. This control of the power supply allows the user to realise the 500 series full potential with no fear of overload.

Within the R6, there is a plethora of connections available. The R6 rear panel is essentially a routing patch-bay in its own right. Featured are 8 channels of balanced I/O options, including DB-25, XLR and TRS connection options that can be used interchangeably. This kind of connection versatility will be especially useful when taking the R6 to any environment where limited cabling may be available. If you need to convert a DB-25, XLR or TRS connection to any other format then this is possible using the Thru functions on channels 7-8.

The body itself is made of a solid steel chassis with rubber bumper feet that will support the unit in both vertical and horizontal positions. Also featured is a collapsible handle for more comfortable portability.

All connectors, fittings and connectors are of the highest quality to ensure that the R6 will hold up to many years of use.

As the R6 has been built to 500 Series specifications, so you are assured that it will work flawlessly with any properly designed 500 Series module you wish to include. But also, to help accommodate modules that are slightly out of spec, the R6 has variable-position screw holes to make the installation process flow more smoothly. The 500 Series link function can be enabled in pairs using the link jumpers on channels 1-2, 3-4 or 5-6. Matching blank panels are also available to cover any empty slots.
