In the redesign of the Taylor 714ce Grand Auditorium 2016, many innovative ideas by boss Luthier Andy Powers have become reality. Accordingly, this Grand Auditorium was given a performance bracing and a wafer-thin finish. At the same time, the top and the floor were placed under slight tension and the top was fitted with an innovative Lutz spruce, consisting of an Engelmann and Sitka spruce cross. The effect is amazing: an overwhelming sound with clear and powerful basses, warm and nuanced mids and fine silvery, brilliant highs. A flat neck profile and an excellent flat string position provide a pleasant and soft playing feeling and with the cutaway even the higher registers are easy to grip.

When it comes to design, Andy Powers has done a great job. Accordingly, the Taylor 714ce Grand Auditorium 2016 Western guitar comes with chic Abalone Reflections inlays on the fretboard, a Hawaiian Koa binding and a Douglas fir rosette in Herringbone design;
The in-house Pickup Expression System 2 has a volume, bass and treble control. With this quite puristic technical equipment the acoustic sound is largely preserved and the Taylor 714ce Grand Auditorium 2016 acoustic guitar lets resonate freely. The Expression System 2 delivers a lively, amplified sound with surprising brilliance and amazing depth.
