Modern ribbon microphone

The AT4081 delivers the warm and natural sound of a classic ribbon microphone. The hand-crafted microphone is solidly built to ensure long-lasting usability.

48V for a ribbon?

For a ribbon microphone, it has quite a high sensitivity, which allows it to work with many different microphone preamps without producing an annoying noise floor. It uses 48V phantom power for this purpose. The active amplifier electronics provide a higher output level and at the same time protect the microphone from damage by the 48V phantom power, which would grill many a legendary vintage ribbon at the drop of a hat. So at this point, no more risk of fatal mistakes during the recording process.

How and where do I use the AT4081?

With its unobtrusive design, this microphone is a natural for recording a whole range of instruments (wind instruments, strings, drum overheads, orchestras, and more) and guitar amps - in the studio as well as live.
