Modular Interface
The B80 AD/DA converter sets new standards, offering up to 80 analog channels when fully equipped. With its plug-in card system and rugged 4U chassis, the B80 Mothership has 10 card slots and can be equipped with, for example, 4- or 8-channel AD/DA cards, all with a discrete class-A signal path without integrated circuits or capacitors. The B80 Mothership is the result of over 30 years of tireless research and development. The uncompromising design strategy is immediately evident in the build quality.
Configure your interface as you wish
With its fully configurable plug-in card system, the B80 can be used to create a converter for any situation. If you are a mixing engineer, you can equip the B80 with 8 BDA8 cards and a BDA4M to get 68 output channels with stunning fidelity. If you're recording live, you can get 64 line-level inputs with 8 BAD8 cards, or 40 channels of mic preamp gain AND A/D conversion in one with 10 B4 mic Preamps. Digital connectivity is also fully configurable and controlled by an interchangeable motherboard. Burl Audio offers four digital motherboards for the B80 Mothership: BMB1 (Digi-link), BMB2 (MADI), BMB3 (Dante) and BMB4 (SoundGrid).
