Electro Voice RE3 is a complete package of handheld and bodypack transmitters for multiple frequency ranges. With 5 new detachable microphone capsules, the great sound of the ND series and the new RE420 and RE520 microphones is transmitted to any portable radio system. The RE3 wireless microphones are only available for European countries and operate using different bandwidths for the European markets. To minimize the complexity of today's demanding RF environments, the operating channels include both
The Electro Voice RE3-RE520-8M 823-865MHz is a portable UHF wireless set with RE520 condenser supercardioid microphone head for vocals and presentations. The sound of the RE520 is detailed, full and lively, with a tight and clear bass response, a natural and present midrange and an exceptionally detailed high end. The supercardioid pattern provides excellent acoustic isolation.
Setup is quick and easy using the RE3's Clear
The Set consists of the RE520-RC3 microphone head, the RE3-HHT handheld transmitter and the RE3-RX diversity receiver.
The Electro Voice RE520-RC3 is a high quality, high performance supercardioid condenser microphone head designed to reveal the exceptional detail and vivid clarity required for expressive vocal performances while controlling off-axis sound from close sources.
This microphone head adapts electrically and mechanically to wireless handheld transmitters using the standard 1.25" diameter 3-contact rings through the 28-thread pitch. The floating captured ID collar rotates freely until the head is firmly tightened. It remains locked in place after tightening. This allows the desired alignment of the branding on the transmitter.
The sound is detailed, full and lively, with a warm and clear bass range, a natural and present mid-range and an open, crisp and detailed high-end.
The supercardioid pattern provides excellent acoustic isolation. Maximum feedback rejection occurs when a position of the stepped monitor is either 225° or 125° off axis to the element. This pattern also allows for a cleaner mix by rejecting off-axis sound. The multi-stage pop filter consists of two layers of dense, air-separated foam that dampens the wind speed caused by breath and gusts of wind.
The high-pass filter has two positions: the flat position provides the full frequency bandpass of the capsule. The high-pass position attenuates frequencies below 150 Hz. The internal shock mount isolates the microphone element from vibrations and protects against handling noise.
The Electro Voice RE3-HHT is a lightweight but robust UHF handheld transmitter. It is ideal for professional performance and presentation applications. Due to the common microphone head coupling with a diameter of 1.25" and a thread pitch of 28 UN-2A, it accepts microphone heads with this common coupling convention. Although the RE3-HHT is primarily intended for the ND and RE series heads designed for the RE3, it will accommodate other microphone heads with the 1.25" diameter and 28 UN-2A thread pitch coupling scheme.
The all-metal housing is robust and durable and works with 2 AA alkaline or rechargeable NiMH cells. The ultrasonic synchronization function enables easy system setup by synchronizing the transmitter with the receiver frequency tuning and other functional data.
The selectable output power (band specific) helps to overcome the challenges of long or short transmission distances and the tuning bandwidth provides generous frequency tuning options that help to avoid various sources of potential interference.
The threaded coupling allows easy and convenient attachment and replacement of different heads. The charging contacts enable functional use with the optional BC2 charging station, so that the NiMH batteries can be charged in two pocket transmitters without removal.

The RE3-RX is a professional, rack-mountable, ½ space diversity receiver. Designed to be the control center for an RE3 wireless set, it features frequency scanning and synchronization as well as full transmitter control settings that synchronize with a matching transmitter.
Diversity reception technology minimizes the likelihood of signal dropouts by providing two separate antenna positions that are individually electronically selected based on signal strength and stability.
The easy-to-use frequency scanning function simplifies locating and tuning to a clear operating frequency. The synchronization function wirelessly synchronizes all operating parameters with the associated transmitter.
The wide tuning bandwidth allows access to a wide frequency range, selectable in 25kHz steps for interference-free operation of single and multi-channel systems.
The easy-to-read LCD display provides a clear overview of all menus and operating parameters.
