The PM-SUBmini is the small yet powerful subwoofer system which has been designed to fit perfectly with the best selling Fostex PM0.3/0.3d as well as the newly announced PM0.1 monitor speaker system in both the sound characteristics and the physical size. The PM-SUBmini can also be added to your existing compact speakers thanks to the through-terminal for satellite speakers and variable crossover frequency control between 60/150Hz.
The main features of the PM-SUBmini include:
For ages I searched for a small Sub that would produce a near 39hz at low volumes accurately. I live in a flat and can only irritate the neighbors so much at 3am.
Given the price of this sub and the fact it is a Fostex product I was intrigued. Upon reading the specs I was over com with joy to find out it reached my exact requirements.
I tried to order it from a local supplier who, after 2 months, was unsuccessful. So i ordered it through http://www.musicstore.de.
This may have been the best decision I made the whole of last year.
The product itself is unbelievable. The accuracy is sublime and varying the crossover allows what I term the difference between LFO for cinema and FOCUS bass like what is necessary for intelligent Drum and Bass production.
It is minute and conversely INCREDIBLY powerful.
The price I managed to get it from http://www.musicstore.de for was unmatched, their postage price made me worried that theyd sent it by some unsecure method -
BUT I WAS TOTALLY WRONG ABOUT THAT!
It arrived promptly and for a price NO-ONE in South Africa could offer it to me for.
I can only say I AM SO grateful.
Bought this to supplement my Audioengine A2+ speakers which are used as desktop speakers to play music off my computer. I wanted something small and compact to sit under the desk and this subwoofer does the job perfectly. Sounds just great and good quality. HiFi quality Sub at a very reasonable price. Delivery was only 3 working days as well. Great customer service and support.
I bought one of these to complement my Ruark Audio MR1 MK2 speakers, using their single sub phono output, for home audio. The Ruarks deliver pretty good bass, but I hoped for a bit more, to fill in at the lowest frequencies, and the Fostex does that, supporting the Ruark's from 87 Hz, where I have the crossover set, down to about 59Hz which is the effective bottom end for the Ruarks. The Fostex continues to deliver solid base down to about 38Hz, which is it's effective bottom end.
Considering the small size, that seems quite impressive. I wanted a small unit for reasons of space, and simply to avoid making the RUarks look improbably tiny.
Together, I'm getting near-hi-fi quality, so I'm very happy with the Fostex unit.
The Fostex SUBmini is an excellent compact speaker for those who wish to extend the frequency range of small bookshelf or desktop speakers. The sound is really quite exceptional considering its small size with the speaker delivering very good lower frequencies down to 40Hz.
I purchased this speaker to add bottom end base to my small desktop speakers and I am truly delighted with both the quality and delivery of sound whether listening to music or on-line movie streaming.
Personally, I listen to mostly classical music, so bottom end frequencies are not so marked as with many modern tunes, since symphonic music does not require really deep bass, and the Fostex fulfils this requirement perfectly. However, I am sure it will perform equally well for many modern tunes.
All in all, I could not be more delighted with the quality of sound emanating from such a small discrete speaker which can be concealed easily due to its compact size.
