Included Gibson Custom Shop Guitar case and certificate
The Gibson EDS-1275 Doubleneck Cherry Red at a glance:
With the EDS-1275 Doubleneck Cherry Red the Gibson Custom Shop presents an authentic reissue of the unmistakable electric guitar with two necks, which was first introduced in 1963 and became an absolute icon of the guitar world in the hands of countless rock stars. Built using traditional set-neck construction, the electric guitar delivers a wide-ranging sound with a twelve-string and a six-string neck, encompassing harmonic cleans with a natural Chorus as well as juicy rock tones. While four Custombucker with the typical EDS-1275 circuit take over the electrical sound conversion, optimally coordinated Vintage-StyleHardware completes the EDS-1275 Doubleneck electric guitar from the GibsonCustom Shop.
The iconic Gibson EDS-1275 Doubleneck Cherry Red is a particularly versatile electric guitar with two necks and custombucker pickups.
Both mahogany necks of the EDS-1275 have a comfortable "Slim C" profile and are glued to the mahogany body.
Traditional set-neck construction
In the construction of the EDS-1275 Doubleneck guitar, the Gibson Custom Shop naturally follows the historical specifications from the beginning of the sixties. The mahoganynecks are accordingly glued to the mahogany body and each carries a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with beautiful split parallelogram inlays. With the identical "Slim C" profile, both necks also provide agile playing characteristics, so that both complex chord voicings on the 12-String neck and fast solos on the 6-string neck can be realized with ease.
With two Gibson Custombucker pickups per neck, the EDS-1275 Doubleneck elicits varied sounds with vintage character from the guitar amp.
Custombucker Pickups
As pickup for both necks of the Gibson EDS-1275 chooses the Gibson Custom Shop chooses the sought-after Gibson Custombuckers. The humbuckers, equipped with Alnico III magnets and unwaxed coils, turn out to be authentic recreations of the legendary PAFs and capture both the natural Chorus of the twelve-string neck and the typical sound of the six-string neck with fine detail resolution. Here, the central toggle switch determines which neck is active with the associated pickup set, while the traditional 3-way switch with separate Volume and Tone controls allows the tone to be precisely adjusted for the selected neck.
On both headstocks of the EDS-1275 double-neck guitar, Gibson Deluxe tuners ensure accurate tuning.
Vintage style hardware
Last but not least completes the Gibson Custom Shop the EDS-1275 Doubleneck Vintage Cherry electric guitar with vintage-style Hardware. While two ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridges allow for optimal adjustment of intonation and string action of each set of strings, the signature 1275 tailpieces allow for convenient string changes. Gibson DeluxeSingle-Ring tuners also ensure accurate and robust tuning on both necks of Gibson's EDS-1275 electric guitar.
