Flexible Made in Japan RG with Reversed Headstock
With the Ibanez Genesis RG565-LB Laser Blue Ibanez expands the Japanese-made Genesis Collection with an eye-catching shredder guitar with a reversed headstock and flexible pickup setup. In addition to the basswood body in the familiar as well as agile RG design, the electric guitar features a bolt-on maple-walnut neck whose "Super Wizard" profile promises extremely agile playing characteristics. With an Ibanez Infinity R humbucker in a narrow single-coil format and a full-sized Ibanez V8 humbucker at the bridge, the Genesis RG565 delivers powerful clean and distorted tones that accurately portray every note played. Completing the Genesis RG565-LB Laser Blue guitar's features is a tuning-stable Ibanez Edge tremolo that takes even the heaviest whammy bar action with stoic composure.
A top-notch shredding guitar, the Japanese-built Ibanez Genesis RG565-LB Laser Blue impresses with agile playing characteristics and hot sounds.
Agile RG design
In designing the Japanese-built Genesis RG565, Ibanez pays special attention to ideal handling and powerful sound. While the sleek linden body sits comfortably against the body thanks to the large-scale belly cut, the wide cutaways allow unobstructed access to the high registers of the bolt-on, five-piece maple and walnut neck. The extremely slim "Super Wizard" profile with just 17 mm of wood under the first fret, together with the flat 17" fingerboard radius (430 mm), promises excellent playing characteristics for virtuoso solos and tight riffing on the 24-fret maple fingerboard.
Flexible pickup configuration
For electric sound conversion, the Genesis RG565 relies on a slim Ibanez Infinity R humbucker in the neck position and a full-sized V8 humbucker at the bridge. Equipped with powerful ceramic magnets, the pickups elicit both full-bodied clean tones and punchy overdrive and distortion tones from the guitar amp, rendering every note with razor-sharp articulation even when drop-tuned. In addition to the 5-way pickup switch, which can be used to call up a wide variety of tonal nuances, the Volume and Tone controls give you full control over the sound of the electric guitar.
Edge Tremolo and Gotoh tuner
Last but not least, Ibanez completes the Genesis RG565-LB Laser Blue electric guitar with top-notch hardware features. With its buttery smooth handling and unwavering tuning stability, the proven Ibanez Edge double-locking tremolo invites unrestrained shredding techniques like dive-bombs and squeals. On the distinctive "Reversed" headstock, Gotoh tuners bring the electric guitar quickly and precisely into the correct tuning.
This guitar feels and sounds great for such a low-priced instrument. What you'd expect from Japanese craftsmanship. Out of the box, I had to adjust the neck and bridge slightly due to some fret buzz but other than that, it was good to go. I think they could've went with less 'loud' colours but, I get that they were capturing a moment in time and tastes then. Other than this, the instrument is spot on.
