MAM MB33 is an analog monophonic synthesizer. The sound generation is similar to the legendary TB-303 Basseline but now housed in a compact and stylish desktop enclosure. The same waveforms and parameters as the TB-303 are available. The distinctive envelope and of course the absolutely unique accent sound just like the original! The only difference to the original is the affordable price - We are very proud to offer you the absolutely timeless sound of a 303 at a fair price!
The sound shaping parameters
The sound-shaping parameters are exactly identical to those of a TB-303. Hardly any other filter sounds as distinctive as that of this legendary bassline. Perhaps one advantage of its success story is the way it performs: few parameters with maximum creative sound shaping. In the VCF (Voltage Controlled Filter) we find the cutoff, resonance, ENV modulation and ENV decay. The VCA section allows the regulation of the accent and the regulation of the overall volume.
Gimmicks on the back
OFFSET adjusts the lowest point of the filter cutoff, the further this value is turned down the lower the filter can be closed.
SCALE adjusts the intensity of the resonance, the higher the value the stronger the resonance.
At the VCF IN external audio signals can be looped in and processed by the filter of the MB-33 Retro.
The MIDI-IN supplies the instrument with the necessary MIDI data.
AUTOTUNE lets a smart sequence sound, which invites to screw away. (You can hear the sequence in our video)
The MIDI-CH mouse piano is used to set the MIDI receive channel.

Considering the price this little is sold for the value is incredible. I am using my MB 33 to replace my Volca Bass. What is really impressive is the fact that the MB 33 is much smaller than the Volca! It also has a proper output rather than a microjack like the Volca.
I was surprised how small it is. Super sturdy though. Metal box and sturdy pots. It’s so simple to use and that makes it one you will go back to time and time again as it’s fun. There are more tones in there than you would expect. You can have a nice mixed square/saw wave and drive it hard into the filter. It took me a few goes to hear it’s range. Should have got one years ago.
Such a good squelchy sound, I love it, paired it up with my Polyend Tracker to make some Acid. Build quality is very good, sound is excellent. Small size too.. 👍
On the surface it's limited, to look at it you might not expect much. True, the device has limited functionality.
But; it sounds GREAT. Chewy, squelchy and meaty. Everything you want from a 303 emulator. Mine is coupled with a multifx guitar pedal that brings out the growl and it sounds GLORIOUS.
For the money this is a superb piece of equipment, solid, well built and tiny.
