Special offer: If you buy an AVB-compatible MOTU interface or converter, you will now receive the German full version of the professional DAW Digital Performer 9 for free!
The MOTU 8D audio interface has 4 AES/EBU and 4 S/PDIF inputs and outputs and also offers sample rate conversion on all inputs. It can be connected to the computer via USB or AVB/TDSN. Optimized drivers offer extremely short latency times and reliable and stable operation.
Flexible Converter, Router, Splitter and Repeater
Each input can be sent to any output and split to multiple outputs simultaneously. In addition, conversions to any format are possible, be it AES3, S/PDIF, AVB/TDSN and USB. Audio files can also be routed from computer to computer to any device within the AVB network.

AVB network and Standalone-Mixer application
The MOTU 8D can also be connected to other AVB audio interfaces via the AVB Ethernet port, as mentioned above. This can be done either by a direct Ethernet cable connection from interface to interface or by using the individually available MOTU AVB switch, which also allows more than two MOTU audio interfaces to be connected simultaneously. This allows any number of inputs and outputs to be added to an existing AVB network without much effort. The standalone mixer function of the MOTU 8D AVB completes the very flexible application profile of the audio interface, as it no longer needs to be controlled directly but can be controlled remotely via a web app on iPhone, iPad, smartphone, tablet or laptop. In this way, certain parameters can be modified. This feature makes the MOTU 8D AVB very interesting for mobile use, such as stage or live applications in general. However, it is also very suitable for studios, as it can be easily expanded through the AVB network. Furthermore it is also well suited for home studios, as it can create excellent audio recordings with its high quality converters and very good 24-bit/192kHz resolution.
DSP mixing and effects processing
The 8D has a mixing console with 48 inputs, 7 stereo aux busses, 3 groups, access to 64 network channels and DSP effects such as reverb, 4-band equalizer, gate and compressor; modeled vintage effects such as classic reverb, compression by modeling the legendary LA-2A compressor from Teletronix, equalizer, modeled after the great British analog consoles, 32-bit floating point processing. The 8D's mix and effects processor offers unlimited virtual headroom and maximum sound quality.
