Sigma 00K2-42S

Compact slope-shoulder-acoustic guitar made of flamed koa with solid top and including softshell case

With the Sigma 00K2-42S, the manufacturer Sigma presents a compact 00-12 Fret Western guitar that is perfectly suited for expressive pickings thanks to its high-quality construction and its selected materials. Visually, the instrument from the Sigma Custom Shop also convinces with its exciting grain and detailed inlays. The product is rounded off with a very stable, in-house softshell case.

Construction and woods

Due to its solid Koa top, the compact acoustic guitar produces a very warm and defined tone, which is especially pronounced in the mid frequencies. Thanks to the laminated koa body, a very thin varnish and an X-bracing, this tone is developed very quickly and even with light strokes. The short mahogany neck with a noble ebony fingerboard is also very easy to grip, as it has a nut width of 44.5 mm. All in all the construction of the instrument is very traditional so that especially old styles like blues- or folk-picking come across very authentically.

Design and Hardware

To keep the appearance authentic the richly decorated headstock of the Sigma 00K2-42S is kept open. Gold Grover tuners are mounted on the sides to guarantee precise tuning of the 6 steel strings. In addition, the instrument is decorated with extensive bindings and inlays, which give the overall appearance a noble touch. The high-gloss finish is colored with a light aging toner and thus gives the custom shop guitar the final touch.
