Tubbutec 's uTune is a full-featured Eurorack interface that converts MIDI and CV/Gate in both directions. Thanks to high quality 16 bit converters precise control processes are possible. The module has two CV/Gate inputs and outputs each, so it is directly suitable for duophonic playing and controlling two independent tracks. The analogue inputs in turn allow the integration of a MIDI synthesizer or a plug-in synth in a DAW. While eg. a sequencer module plays a sequence of notes to a 19" rack synth, the CV of a random generator is used to CC the cutoff parameter. The built-in quantizer moves incoming CVs to a desired scale if desired or controls the oscillator on the MIDI side instead of chromatically, eg. pentatonically. In addition, uTune can be used to calibrate the oscillators: the 1V/Oct inputs of one or two oscillators are connected to the CV outputs of the module, the right waveform of the tone generator is fed back into the corresponding CV input of uTune, this way an accurate pitch setting is possible. If you want to use the module to drive old analog synths like a Korg MS-20, you can simply switch the dedicated channel to V/Hz characteristic.
With the uTune Dual Expander it is possible to expand the main uTune module in pairs by two CV/Gate inputs and outputs each. Up to three expanders can be connected and assigned to uTune, bringing the total number of inputs and outputs to eight each. - Perfect for up to 8-voice polyphonic patches and those that require a lot of control including clock and reset commands for sequencers.
