Thanks to its compact "New Yorker" construction, the Takamine GY11ME NS produces a very midrange-rich tone that is perfectly complemented by warm bass frequencies. This makes the acoustic guitar perfect for picking and conveys the charm of a real blues guitar. Furthermore, the round mahogany neck is extremely comfortable to finger in all 21 frets. Thanks to the in-house pickup system with an integrated tuner, the instrument is also suitable for amplified use on stage or in the rehearsal room. Visually, the Takamine is rounded off by multi-ply bindings and a multi-stripe soundhole rosette, which subtly underscore the timeless appearance.
Since the body is made of laminated Sapele wood, the individual frequencies are enriched with a pleasant warmth. The wafer-thin matt varnish and the bracing help the tone to a very fast response, so that even with little effort a stately sound result can be achieved. Due to the round neck profile, the Laurel fingerboard can be gripped obligingly in all positions.
To ensure a clean intonation on the whole 644 mm scale length, the saddle and the 42,5 mm wide nut are finely tuned to each other. At the same time, the chrome-plated die-cast tuners guarantee precise tuning of the 6 steel strings, which are fixed with plastic pins in a bridge made of Indian Laurel. The fretboard is marked with filigree dot inlays that perfectly match the simple overall appearance of the Takamine GY11ME NS.
