Output transformer with nickel core and downstream buffer circuit to drive long line lengths
Transformer adds harmonics, saturation and warmth - resulting in better punch
Large headroom
Up to 28dB clean gain (load dependent)
Balanced XLR interconnect
Power supply via 48V phantom power
Does not allow phantom power to pass through, thus protecting vulnerable and sensitive microphones (e.g. some ribbon microphones)
The Tritonaudio FetHead Transformer is an improved, more elaborate version of the best-selling FetHead and, in addition to the familiar, Class-A JFET circuit, features an output transformer with a nickel core. Due to the special sound characteristics of the transformer, the audio material is enriched with harmonic saturation depending on the input level: it becomes warmer, thicker and more assertive. Signals treated in this way can be better integrated into a mix and brought up to the required loudness standards. This benefits not only instrument signals in a modern production, but also voice recordings for podcasts and YouTube.
