The 5C Active Super Sound Cube from Auratone realizes the famous mixing qualities of the legendary cube-shaped studio monitor for the first time in an active version. The necessary amplifier electronics was developed in close cooperation with Bettermaker and ensures the same incorruptible reference sound, with which the passive role model has already become world famous. With 30 watts continuous and 50 watts impulse power, the 5C Active Super Sound Cube monitors are also well equipped for dynamic material. Thanks to their balanced XLR TRS combo jacks, they integrate seamlessly into any professional studio environment.
The advantages of a point source
With multi-way loudspeakers, phase issues inevitably arise at crossover frequencies. Even sophisticated high-end systems cannot completely avoid this problem. That's why full-range loudspeakers, also called point source speakers, have been the means of choice for more than 50 years to judge the stereo depth and width of a mix with absolute phase fidelity. The Super Sound Cubes were the first loudspeakers to bring these benefits to professional studios. Equipped with a single high-quality 4.5-inch driver in an ultra-compact sealed enclosure, they provide the perfectly phase-accurate representation of the all-important midrange and incorruptible spaciousness essential for viable mix decisions.
