The Boss MO-2 Multi-Overtone Guitar Effects Pedal is designed to use the guitar's harmonic qualities to create new sounds thanks to new Multi-Dimensional Processing (MDP) technology.
The Boss MO-2 is part of a new breed of Boss compact stompbox effects pedals, with the aim of adapting to how the guitar is played in each register. The Boss MO-2 features three modes, each one offering a different range of overtones and detuning effects.
There are controls for Balance, Tone and Detune level, all of which offer an array of very useable sounds, from shimmering resonance and clarity to thick, synth-like tones. Boss are promising that, with the new MDP technology, the effects will work differently for each user, as the pedal's behaviour is influenced by the guitar and other effects pedals.
There are controls for Detune, Tone and Balance, which can be used to mix the sound of the effect with the dry guitar signal. The final control knob is for selecting the effect mode. There is a single 1/4" jack input and stereo jack outputs, while the pedal, much like Boss' other compact pedals, can be powered by either a 9v battery or an additional power supply.
