Analogue pedal preamp with tube
With the Carl Martin Ampster, the Danish effects specialists are offering a practical tool for all guitarists who want to put together a handy setup for the stage and Studio and don't want to do without the authentic tube sound. Thanks to the fully analogue circuitry, with a real tube at its centre for incomparable dynamics and fidelity, the practical Preamp delivers harmonious clean and overdrive sounds with unmistakably British character. While the speaker simulation promises a particularly natural sound experience thanks to two timbres, the balanced DI-Out allows direct pickup of the guitar signal.
Analog circuitry with straightforward operation
The Ampster Preamp from Carl Martin, built using analogue tube technology, impresses with a particularly straightforward operating concept and an incredibly dynamic feel that is no different from a full-blown guitar amp and puts control of the sound in the hands of the player. Here, the gain knob smoothly changes from a full Clean-Sound to a creamy Overdrive with a mid-range, British sound character, while the master knob determines the volume of the Preamp. For precise tone adjustment, the Carl Martin Ampster also features a classic 3-band tone control with an additional Presence control for the highest frequency ranges. In addition, the three-position voicing switch on the front of the pedal influences the output of the lowest frequencies and prevents an undefined tone.
Speaker simulation, connection variety
In order to achieve a particularly natural sound result when miking directly on stage or at Studio, Carl Martin equips the Ampster with a speaker simulation with two distinct sound characters. Besides the transparent and airy sound character of an open 2x12 guitar speaker cabinet, the powerful and punchy sound of a closed 4x12 cabinet is available. In addition to the balanced XLR DI output, the Ampster from Carl Martin also has a link out, which can be used to forward the unprocessed input signal to other amps or effects chains, and a serial effects path for integrating additional guitar effects.
