Signature bass with passive EMG pickups and classic circuitry
The ESP LTD FBJ-400 Black Satin Frank Bello Signature Bass convinces as the personal instrument of the Anthrax bassist not only with a merciless metal look, but also with flexible sounds for hard riffs and optimal playing characteristics. Based on the traditional offset design, the classically built four-string comes with a mahogany body and U-shaped maple neck, while a PJ setup of passive EMG pickups handles the electric tone conversion. Indestructible Hardware in the form of a DB-4 bridge and classic Vintage bass tuners completes Frank Bello's LTD FBJ-400 Black Satin SignatureBass by ESP.

Classic Style with high playing comfort
Underneath the matte black finish, which is stylishly accentuated by red bindings, the LTD FBJ-400 E-Bass hides a traditional construction with first-class sound and playing characteristics. While the mahogany body sits with comfortable balance on the player thanks to the offset design, the bolt-on maple neck in a U-profile promises comfortable playing characteristics. With a nut width of 42 mm, the fingerboard made of Macassar ebony also offers enough space for clean finger placement between the 21 extra jumbo frets.
Passive EMG Pickups
For the electric sound conversion of the LTD FBJ-400 Frank Bello chose passive EMG pickups, whose red caps perfectly fit into the dignified metal look of the bass guitar. While the EMG PHZ split-coil pickup in the middle position provides a powerful sound with pressing low end and the right amount of brilliance, the EMG LJHZ stacked single-coil at the bridge convinces not only with the enormous assertiveness of its presently focused mids, but also with a hum-free performance. The pickups of the LTD FBJ-400 are traditionally controlled passively by means of two volume controls and a general treble control.
Vintage Style Hardware
Last but not least, ESP completes the LTD FBJ-400 Satin Black Frank Bello SignatureBass with add-on parts in indestructible vintage style. The classic LTD DB-4 bass bridge guarantees optimal intonation and comfortably playable string action with four separately adjustable tailpieces, while four open Vintage-Style tuners on the headstock ensure exact and robust tuning of the E-Bass.
