With the EVH Striped Series 5150 Eddie van Halen presents a detailed reincarnation of his legendary 1984 Signature electric guitar. Accordingly, the electric guitar offers a Linde body with a discreet off-set design whose red, black and white striped finish is reminiscent of the legendary "Frankenstrat". The oiled maple neck in "Hi Performance Modified C" profile, whose fretboard has a compound radius rising from 12" to 16", makes it easy to play even the most virtuoso solo. In addition, a juicy EVH Wolfgang Humbucker on the amplifier provides a distinctive guitar sound that represents every note with high assertiveness and perfectly defined articulation. As befits an Eddie van Halen Signature, the 5150 Guitar naturally offers a Floyd Rose tremolo equipped with a D-Tuna for fast drop-tunings.
Listen, we're all EVH fans whether we like it or not. The man singlehandedly changed the outlook of modern guitar and, before we lost the great man himself he gave us all the tools to make every sound imaginable!
From the Wolfgang, to the 5150, the d-tuna (let's not forget that little gem!) then on to the striped series...Live Without Limits offered up some of the best solos Eddie played from that era with this simple yet brutal guitar!
It's an iconic guitar and it's the one we've all wanted since he played it. The guitar is Mexican made and, while the neck is a slightly thicker profile, the fret work combined with the overall feel of the neck makes playing it so easy. You can take this thing out the box, quick tune up and it's ready to go with practically zero setup.
What can I say, it's 1984 in a modern, perfectly well constructed and fantastic feeling guitar that's the got the most iconic paint job ever and, it sounds utterly, utterly fantastic!
I has this guitar on back order with another famous UK retailer then this popped up on dv24/7 with immediate availability and at a price point no one else could match. Delivery included and no import duty! I don't how they do it but they did and for that, I thank you!
