The Fame MSI Monitor Speaker Isolation Pads are designed to isolate vibrations from monitor speakers away from the desk or stand beneath them.
The Fame MSI Pads are made of speacial high-density foam and have an adjustable angle of +/-10°, +/-5° and 0° in order to ensure that the monitors are aimed at the listener's ears.
The main features of the Fame MSI Monitor Speaker Isolation Pads include:
Manufactured by:
Those pads have two functions:
1. Get rid of vibrations going from your speakers/monitors to your desk. This could be a problem, especially on higher volume
2. Change speaker angle. This is needed if your speaker is lower/higher than your ears level, so sound direction becomes suboptimal.
Ive got those pads and, well, they just work as intended. They are ~5 cm longer than needed, while width is exactly what I need for 5 inch monitor (yamaha msp5), so Ive just cut extra length with a sharp knife.
This Fame isolation studio monitor´s pad are from a very good manufacture material and does it´s jobs very well. Easy to handle and you can use to direct the monitor with angle or right strait to front. Very cheap for the material. I recomend.
This is definatly an underated article. Most people cannot imagine the difference between using this product and not using it. For a precise and balanced mix you need to hear what your studio monitors deliver and using this product is an important way of making sure that happens. It will help you to have a clearer view of what you are doing. These have the cool feature that, depending on the position you want to use them, you can have a free pair to use on anothe extra pair of studio monitors. These, deliver the same functions and quality than the more expensive brothers.
I bough this as a bundle to my Behringer behritone C50, and as you might know, this monitors provide you just the middle range area. This means Im not the perfect guy to talk you about how explendid this pads would absorb low frequency resonances.
However, for its porpuse Im tottaly happy with this cheap option. The foam isnt very soft, which means in my experience that you can use heavier 5" monitores and not having the risk that the low range would be "too much" absord...and in the end they also look good. A good purchase in the end of the day :)
I use these with my JBLs LSR 305 studio monitors and it works very nice. My deck almost doesnt vibrate in high volumes and the sound stays good.
The only problem I find is that the speaker is a bit larger than the foam and the foam is also longer than the speakers, just cut it if you want.
To close: Ive also put some egg cartons bellow the foam to get the speakers more higher and pointing nicely to me.
