Together with his band Rancid, the American Tim Armstrong is one of the most famous punk guitarists of the recent past. Many Rancid songs are influenced by Armstrong's heavily modified Fender Acoustics from the 70s, which served as the basis for this guitar. With a powerful sound, full stage capability and extensive equipment, it delivers an absolutely convincing overall package at an incredibly low price.
Like Armstrong's original, the left-handed Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat uses only mahogany for the body construction. While the back and sides are made of laminate to prevent feedback during stage use, the solid top promises powerful dynamics and pronounced warmth that brings both accompanying chords and pickings to life. At the same time, the compact"Concert" body with its manoeuvrable handling is convincing in every situation
: the maple neck of the Tim Armstrong with its pronounced"Vintage C" profile is rich and comfortable in the hand.
The combination of a flat 300 mm fretboard radius and a slightly shortened 643 mm scale length allows even complex chords to come out of your fingers and ensures a perfect definition of all strings at the same time.
Thanks to the fixed Fishman Isys III pickup, the Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat is fully suitable for stage use. The Under Saddle Pickup transfers the sound of the guitar with natural dynamics and warmth as well as precise string separation. The equipment of the Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat is rounded off by reliable mechanics in vintage style, which deliver high tuning stability with precise transmission.
