Focusrite enters the third round with the Scarlett 2i2 USB audio interface, and once again, the Scarlett 2i2 USB audio interface has been optimized at every point. For singer-songwriters in particular, this interface provides a reassuringly simple recording process and, thanks to powerful AD-DA converters (24-bit/192 kHz), offers professional sound quality that's worth listening to. The combo jacks (XLR/jack) provide plenty of resistance and headroom and are perfect for recording guitars, basses, vocals and more without overdriving or distorting, whereas the gain halos make it easy to read the input level. The balanced outputs are hum-free when connected to balanced studio monitor inputs, ensuring perfect audio reproduction.
In general, all users of the Scarlett series benefit from improved audio performance. The 3rd generation Scarlett microphone preamps are currently the Scarlett preamps with the best sound. They deliver not only high gain levels but also low noise levels for stereo recordings with high demands. The industry-leading 24-bit/192 kHz AD-DA converters also take performance to a new level and guarantee a clearer sound with more emphasis across all frequencies.
The redesigned mic preamps can emulate the air effect of Focusrite's original ISA microphone preamplifier if required, giving your vocal and acoustic recordings a more transparent sound.
Also on board is a Focusrite QuickStart tool which guides the customer through the registration and set-up of software and drivers.
Latencies are one of the most common problems during recording, which is why the USB drivers have been revised once again. Now songs can be recorded and listened to in real time, whereas at the same time even more plug-ins can be activated than before.
As in previous generations, every Scarlett product comes with a software package to get you started right away. This time the following goodies are included:
Focusrite is introducing a new partnership with Splice, giving 3rd generation customers 3 months free access to countless royalty free high quality samples, loops and presets, with new releases every day. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, Splice delivers sounds in all genres, from mainstream pop to underground mixtapes to film scores.
Additional scope of delivery:
Easy to use, solid and good quality. I use it with an external processor with my les paul and the performance as an interface is simply amazing! You have a recording studio in 2 mins!
Once I realised you have to download software, it worked brilliantly, (Don't just plug it in and wait for it to be recpognised!) Knocks spots off the old Tascam it replaced. I now use Cakewalk (defector from Logic Pro) and it says it doesn't support Cakewalk. So, I thought, oh no. But Cakewalk recognised it and synced up instantly, no problem.
Had excellent customer service and had fast delivery even in these tough times with the corona problems, top quality product and great service!
Needed a new sound card for my Mac Mini Silicon running Big Sur and this worked straight out of the box, plus it sounds great, quality product at a great price.
