The Gibson EB Bass 5-String 2018 Trans Black Satin is a modern five-string instrument with a wide range of sounds and comfortable playability for bassists of almost any musical style. With swamp ash for the body and maple for the glued neck, a traditional wood selection is used, while split Gibson EB humbuckers in combination with passive electronics provide versatile sounds. Last but not least, absolutely indestructible hardware is used with a Babicz Full Contact bridge and Grover mechanisms.

Swamp ash and maple for the crisp sound
For the construction of the Gibson EB Bass 5-String, Gibson USA uses a proven wood combination that promises a crisp sound even on the low H-string. Accordingly, the body with generous cutaways is made of swamp ash and glued to the maple neck. The pleasantly rounded "Rounded" profile offers a high playing comfort via the 24-flush rosewood fingerboard.
Gibson EB Bass with versatile sounds
The electric tone conversion of the Gibson EB Bass is done by a Gibson Rhythm EB Bass Humbucker in mid-position and a Gibson Lead EB Bass Humbucker on the bridge. Equipped with fat, open pole pieces, the pickups on the amplifier deliver a powerful sound that precisely defines the low H-string and makes every tone in the pit of the stomach noticeable. With the help of the traditional passive circuit consisting of two volume and one tone controls, you can adjust the sound spectrum in a wide range, which also includes authentic single coil sounds thanks to coil split.
Hardware from Babicz and Grover
Last but not least, the Gibson EB Bass 5-String 2018 is equipped with absolutely indestructible hardware. Accordingly, a Babicz Full Contact bridge is used on the body, whose extremely solid construction supports the response and sound development of the strings. At the same time, individually adjustable string riders guarantee precise intonation and comfortable string positioning. The strings are also countered at the headstock by Grover bass tuners, which ensure precise and stable tuning.
