Gibson semi-acoustic electric guitar with MHS humbuckers and Memphis Tone Circuit, including hardshell case
As a hollow body electric guitar for contemporary demands, the Gibson ES-275 Custom 2018 Ebony embodies classic Gibson charm and contemporary sounds and features. Inspired by the Gibson L-5, the body design offers the ideal balance between resonance volume and playability, while the Rounded'C' mahogany neck, known from traditional Gibson designs, has the classic neck thickness. Two MHS humbuckers in neck and bridge position, specially wound for the Gibson Hollowbody Line-Up, provide a wide dynamic range with moderate output and are controlled by classic volume and tone controls for each pickup. Last but not least, the Memphis Tone Circuit ensures precise volume roll-offs without height losses.
Classic L-5 contours with compact dimensions form the silhouette of the ES-275 Custom 2018.
The body of the Gibson ES-275 Custom 2018 is made of three-layer maple/poplar laminate.
Manoeuvrable mid-depth hollow body design
The body of the ES-275 Custom 2018, made of three-layer maple/poplar laminate, is manufactured in classic semi-acoustic construction without centre block and with classic F-holes. Round contours, such as the Venetian cutaway inspired by the Gibson L-5, offer maximum playing comfort and unrestricted access to the high positions of the fingerboard, while the curvature of the top and back provide additional resonance. Of course the ES-275 gets a multi-layered body binding as well as a noble hardware finish in gold.
Especially for the ES models from the Gibson Memphis Facility, Gibson produces the MHS Humbucker, a pickup adapted to semihollow and hollow body guitars that adequately reproduces the acoustic sound character of the instruments. In the neck and bridge position of the ES-275 they create a sound image ranging from warm and jazzy sounds to more powerful blues rock. Thanks to hand-wired electronics including Gibson's Memphis Tone Circuit, the sound of the ES-275 Custom 2018 is not affected when the volume potentiometer is activated and a treble rolloff.
