The Gibson Firebird Ebony is a tribute to 1965, when the iconic Firebird design underwent a transformation: the most noticeable feature change was the inverted headstock, which was given the name "Platypus" due to its shape and is characterized by its flat design and the six tuners installed in series. The Firebird Platypus is also equipped with two Gibson Firebird Mini Humbuckers, which deliver a rich Output and convey the unique vintage sound of the original Firebirds. The electric guitar bears the iconic Firebird logo on the pickguard and also comes with a matching case.

Mahogany body/neck and reliable chrome hardware
The Firebird Platypus has a mahogany body and is characterized by the reverse Firebird design, while the set mahogany neck with slim taper profile ensures excellent handling. The rosewood fingerboard offers a pleasant feel so that demanding blues licks or Classic rock leads can be played cleanly by hand. The tried-and-tested combination of a Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge with aluminum stop bar and Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners ensures reliable tuning and clean intonation. The chrome look of the hardware blends in beautifully with the chic Ebony finish, making the Gibson Firebird a real eye-catcher in the rehearsal room, at Studio or on stage.

Firebird Mini Humbucker
The in-house Firebird Mini humbuckers in the neck and bridge position deliver a genuine vintage sound that is defined by balanced bass and mids, while high frequencies are assertive and catchy. Naturally, the iconic Firebird sound from the sixties is transported, which is brought back to life by the reissued Platypus models. In addition, the electric guitar is equipped with two volume and two tone controls for both pickups, while the 3-way switch is available for flexible switching of the pickups.
