The QSC K8.2 is a 2-way full-range active speaker with a 2,000 watt Class D amplifier module and DSP (Digital Signal Processor). The speaker is equipped with an 8" woofer and a 1.4" titanium compression driver. The built-in DSP allows you to perfectly adjust the speaker to your location and save the scene. The QSC K8.2 speaker operates in a frequency range of 55 Hz - 20 kHz and has a maximum sound pressure level of 128dB. Thanks to the many connection options, the speaker is equipped for any eventuality. The housing of the QSC K8.2 is made of durable and robust plastic and is therefore very light, in addition, ergonomic handles have been installed for safe carrying comfort.
The speaker can also be used as a monitor speaker and has a monitor slope of 55°.
Inputs
Built-in are two balanced 6.3mm XLR/jack combo connectors and one 3.5mm mini-jack connector with independent gain control. The first is equipped with selectable MIC / LINE (microphone or line) level input, while the second selectable HI-Z / LINE (high impedance or line) level input, especially suitable for musical instruments. This eliminates the need for a Di Box when connecting a guitar, for example. Both inputs are directly connected several XLR Male pass-through connectors, so that the signals can be passed.
A 3.5mm mini jack input jack with independent gain control is provided for connecting sources such as smartphones, computers and MP3 players. Because each channel has independent gain control, they no longer need a mixer for small gigs.
Multifunction digital display
The multifunction digital display allows the control and selection of speaker functions such as CROSS-OVER, EQ, DELAY as well as various presets predefined by QSC (Stage Monitor, Party, Live as well as Speaker). Through these functions, which are controlled via the display, the sound of the speaker can be perfectly adapted to any room without having to carry an additional DSP. This saves space during transport and time during setup.
Positioning options
With the QSC K.2 series, great attention has been paid to the flexibility of positioning the speaker. Either the speaker can be used as a stage monitor with a monitor slant of 55° or placed on a speaker stand as usual. Since the speaker is equipped with 35mm high stand jacks, the speaker can be oriented with a tilt angle of 0° or -7.5°. Due to these tilt angles, the box can be used very flexibly for different room sizes.

Mandatory firmware update for all QSC K.2 Series users
If K10.2 loudspeakers are operated at very high levels with audible distortion, the low frequency driver may malfunction without the power amplifier protection circuitry kicking in and warning the user. This can cause the driver to overheat and possibly damage the entire speaker. The problem can be solved by updating the firmware from version 1.0.8 or 1.1.0 to version 1.2.0.
Owners of a K10.2 speaker must check their currently used firmware version and, if necessary, install the firmware update. Owners of a K12.2 or K8.2 can also benefit from the improved power amp protection that is part of the new firmware. Therefore, we recommend updating these speakers accordingly as well.
Firmware version 1.2.0 includes the following items:
Increased reliability at 220-240 V mains voltage (all models).
Improvements to the power amp and woofer protection circuits on the K10.2.
Improved power amp protection circuits for K8.2 and K12.2.
The firmware can be downloaded here for Mac or Windows.
Clarity and volume are incredible for such a small speaker. Works as a wedge monitor (has a cutaway) or as FOH. Includes a selection of EQ settings to match the use.
