Analogue Circuitry
Built around an analog J-FET preamp, the Imperial MKII delivers exceptional clarity and response, regardless of the instrument or pickup type used. Besides the classic stand-alone operation in front of a clean amp, the fuzz pedal is perfectly suited for tickling the overdrive channel or the popular stacking with additional dirt boxes, so that there are no limits to the sonic freedom.
Flexible EQ
The sound of the Solid Gold FX Imperial MKII can be adjusted precisely and flexibly with the help of four large faders. While the Fuzz and Tone controls adjust the intensity of the distortion and the treble in the tone, the Contour fader controls the frequency of a high-pass filter within the circuit and thus determines the boost or cut in the mid spectrum. Last but not least, Volume adjusts the volume of the signal at the output of the effects pedal.
Noise Gate
Another highlight is the integrated noise gate of the Imperial MKII by Solid Gold Effects. Built with silicon transistors and optimally tuned in attack and release, the gate gives the fuzz effect a dry, sharp attack without choking off the sustain during high gain and decaying notes.
