Twisted Electrons Acid8 is an easy-to-use, hybrid digital/analogue acid machine with a high fun factor, a powerful step sequencer and its own sound character.
Hybrid Digital/Analog Technology
The heart of Acid8 is an 8-bit oscillator that can be manipulated to the extreme. 4 of the 16 waveforms can be individually edited in an editor. Behind the digital oscillator, the signal path is 100% analog and has a powerful VCA and a dirty to coarse sounding, resonant low pass filter.
Onboard effects and percussive sounds
Up to 5 DSP effects are used. The bits of the digital signal can be inverted to create interesting harmonies and effects. An envelope modulation of the pitch is suitable for creating percussive and other fancy sounds that further distinguish Acid8 from common replicas of the usual suspects.
Inspiring step sequencer for unusual grooves
The integrated step sequencer has all the functions expected of an acid machine and is very easy to operate. Thanks to MIDI Out, it can also be used with external hardware. Functions such as Edit, copy & paste or Pattern Randomizer work in real time while the sequencer is running. An 8-step swing provides the right groove. Waveform and swing settings are saved within the patterns.
