With the Vox AC15C1 Custom , the British amp Vox veteran presents a modernized version of its very first Combo amp, the AC15C1, whose typical sound from 1958 made the hearts of guitarists beat faster. Equipped with a 15 watt tube amplifier, two channels and reverb and Tremolo effect, the guitar amplifier delivers a broad sound with authentic Vintage character.
Just like its ancestor, who had a decisive influence on the sound of the British Invasion, the Vox AC15 C1 also has two channels. While the Combo Amp normal channel delivers a transparent Clean sound that reproduces the guitar sound in detail, the top Boost channel convinces with its creamy Overdrive , brilliant " Vox chime" that stands out in every band. In addition, the Vox AC15 offers an integrated reverb effect, which gives the sound a three-dimensional three-dimensionality, and one Tremolo that can be adjusted in speed and depth.
The output stage of the Vox AC15 C1 Custom is equipped with two EL84 tubes and has an output of 15 watts. Accordingly, the Combo guitar can amplify with a volume suitable for the living room as well as in the rehearsal room. The power is delivered by a Celestion G12M Greenback loudspeaker with a 12" diaphragm, whose creamy vocal centres, tight basses and clear trebles perfectly match the authentic British sound character of the electric guitar combo amplifier.
This is a great amp.
It has the great vox chime and for its 15 watt its extremely loud.I use this amp mainly to play U2 covers but i have played some GNR and greenday on this amp and it handles them very well
Tone cut and normal channel is a great addition to the CC1 its predecessor as is the greenback speaker by celestion.
The clean sounds are absolutely amazing but when you put the volume up it has a real sweet overdrive.
It handles pedals pretty well.
The only downside of this amp is that its pretty heavy. But it sure is worth the tug.
in its price range im pretty sure you wont find a better amp.
PROS: excellent loud and open sound suitable for small gigs great British overdrive excellent for the low price
CONS: may be a bit too treblely heavy normal channel cannot be equalized tremolo and reverb are not excellent but still good
Classic and very inspiring clean sound either with my fender strat or with gibson les paul.
Built in Reverb and Tremolo are great additions and help constructing that beautiful sound.
As far as the dirt goes dont expect to play heavy metal but its ok for some hard rock or grunge. Just put some time on the tone controls (bass and treble) and you will get few different sounds...
Excellent amp, has that classic vox sound in spades, lovely tremolo circuit also
looks great and sounds great and will cover most styles of music, classic rock, country, surf, indie
fast delivery swell, recommend 100%
