The Yamaha MX88 is a professional digital synthesizer. It combines the sounds of the Yamaha Motif XS synthesizer with an 88-key weighted keyboard. The MX88 has in excess of 1000 voices such as piano, electric piano, strings, synth sounds, drums and many more with 128-note polyphony. The MX88 is also very easy to use with its sound category selection and simple split/layer function. The keyboard also features an audio interface to allow seamless integration with your DAW via USB cable. The MX88’s VCM effects simulate vintage analogue synthesizer sounds. The synthesizer also can play arpeggio patterns and drum sounds. The MX88 also has an onboard sequencer for creating live playback without a computer.
Not only a Fantastico product, but over the Moon with its quality of sounds, mixes, and recording abilities. This will open New doors for Me, Thank you.
I'll start with the keybed - it's a GHS, as if extra weighted compared to previous models I've played. When compared to Roland's PHA-4, which is a tri-sensor system, I don't find any advantages in Roland's favor. Externally - decent workmanship, nothing special, not bad either. Regarding sound, I was pleasantly surprised by three sounds of a grand piano, a few more of Rhodes, 1-2 synth brass sounds, some modern sounds and two or three synth leads. Unfortunately, there is nothing to impress in the strings and brass banks, these banks simply do not exist for me. I haven't even listened to the organ section, I know what I'm going to hear...I have an organ sound from another device. Overall I'm happy with the purchase, I wanted a solid basic keyboard that I could use for playing VST instruments and that had some usable grand piano and rhodes sounds.
