The Percussion Interface with Expander from 4ms is an audio interface split into two modules that extracts control voltages and gates from the incoming audio signal. The main module, which also works without the expander, is adjustable in sensitivity and has a Decay/Sustain envelope that fits the determined gate. Optionally to the D/S envelope the envelope follower can be activated, which outputs the level of the incoming transients as control voltage. Additively to the main module there is the expander, which additionally provides a large 6.3 mm jack socket for input signals and loops this through with a small jack; a multiple between source and the 4ms percussion interface is thus not necessary. A toggle switch allows the input impedance to be changed, setting the module to microphone level, line signals and e-drum triggers. In addition, the expander outputs the generated envelope simultaneously with adjustable positive and negative control voltage.
