Arturia Drumbrute ImpactNoir is a drum computer with 10 completely analog drum sounds and an intuitive and versatile sequencer. This drum computer does away with annoying submenus, allowing each parameter to be controlled by its own knob. Four individual outputs and a wide range of connectivity options make the Arturia Drumbrute Impact a real powerhouse on stage and in the studio.
Unique and powerful analog drum sounds
The Drumbrute Impact delivers 10 fully analog drum sounds with independent sequencer tracks. With knobs and buttons, each sound is very intuitive and directly customizable. Each drum sound has a unique parameter that changes timbre, pitch, envelope or synthesis properties.
The Color parameter
The Color parameter can be activated for every instrument except the Cow-Bell and adds another sound variation if needed. This can be drive for the kick, harmonics for the open hi-hat or pitch envelope for the FM Drum sound. These parameters can be activated in the sequencer for individual steps and are excellent for giving the sound more movement.
Master distortion for more grit
A new feature is also the drum-optimized distortion on, which gives grit and textures to drum sounds without reducing power and transients. This effect, acting on the Master bus, can be used at light settings to give a slight compression and warmth to the mix or, at higher settings, and to heavily distort the mix. Both sound great with this effect optimized for drums.
Touch sensitive pads
The Arturia Drumbrute Impact has eight touch-sensitive pads that can be used to play each instrument dynamically. They can be used to play your own patterns without a sequencer, improvise over patterns in the sequencer, or record directly into the sequencer. Recorded rhythms can be played back quantized and unquantized. This allows you to create complex and lively patterns very quickly.
Deep sequencer
Adopted from the Arturia Drumbrute, the sequencer has a number of interesting sequencing options that can be used individually for each instrument. Swing can be applied to the selected instrument or all sounds. Randomness adds random hits to the drum track, Step Repeat and Roller allow you to divide steps into smaller increments, and repeat sounds at preset intervals for drum rolls and fills. The sequencer also makes it easy to create polyrhythms for more complex patterns, and to set accents that emphasize specific steps for greater dynamics.
Full connectivity with Midi and CV
Because of the many connectivity options, the Arturia Drumbrute Impact is great for connecting to other synthesizers, drum computers, effects or DAW's. It has a 3.5 mm headphone output, individual outputs of the instrument groups and Clock In and Out for synchronization via CV and Midi In and Out. Via a USB connection, the Drumbrute can be synchronized with the DAW via Midi or changes to the settings can be made via the Midi Control Center.
Individual settings with the Midi Control Center
With the free Midi Control Center available for MAC and PC, a number of the settings of the Drumbrute Impact can be changed. Patterns can be saved and loaded and behaviors of the metronome and sequencer can be adjusted to individual needs.

I’ve never tried a drum machine before, and simply wanted something that was more fun than a mere metronome to practice against.
This is very intuitive to use and a lot cheaper than some others. I particularly love the randomise feature & the polyrhythmic modes, which can make the patterns sound a lot more human and unpredictable.
You get accents and different “colours” for each sound, so in my opinion this smaller impact model actually has a wider variety of sounds than the bigger Drumbrute!
Great entry level drum machine with some fun features you won’t find on more expensive models.
