The Auteur Quad is the four-channel rack version of the popular Auteur MK2 preamplifier from Black Lion Audio . The microphone preamp has become an indispensable part of various studios for many years and is known for its fast, transparent, IC-based front end and at the same time offers a fat, colorful back end via Edcor transformers. This mixture of Vintage and modern design has led the Auteur to become known as the "Swiss Army Knife of Preamplifiers", which always sounds good with every signal. It seems especially suited to sources that require detail, but also benefit from a certain thickness such as drums or vocals. Some of the most important additions to the 2-channel half rack unit are the completely new measuring devices on all four channels and the use of the popular 500 series DI circuit on the first two channels. This feature set as well as the number of channels offer you one of the cheapest preamps in the world at an incredible price.
