Boss ME-25 Guitar Multi Effects

The Boss ME-25 is a very good choice for begginers and its not only because of the price tag.
This Multiple Effects pedal simulates the sound of worldwide famous amps like the Peavey EVH 5150, Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier and the most recent marshall amps. It also simulates vintage Marshall amps, VOXs Crunchy sounds, etc. Its a wide variety of sounds.
Its expression pedal has 4 diferent functions:
- wah
- 1 octave
- -1 octave
- Freeze.
Freeze deserves a shout-out. Freeze is an expression pedal function that sustains a note or chord in the background and alows the player to play another melodical line while the chord (or note) is ringing in the background. Its a very cool effect and its equaly fun to explore its many possibilities.
Its also worth mencioning that the ME-25 has a feature called "Sound Library" which gives the user thousands of possible sound combinations, with many tone possibilities for every taste from the clean and brigthest sounds to the ultra metal distortions. The Sound Library has 60 predefinition sounds that the user can modify (or even create new ones) to his taste. There is also the possibility to download more sounds from the official Boss website.
Included in the package is the famous SONAR LE 8.5, which alows the user to record his guitar playing, saving it in a computer and edit them to his liking.
Something that everybody should know before buying this item (and this is the only complaint I have), is that the Power Supply is sold separately. It isnt a major problem, because you can buy it in your local music shop, but Boss should consider making the power supply a part of the package, since the battery life time of the ME-25 is very limited.. (estimated duration time depending on use given: 9hours- Alcaline batteries 3 hours - normal batteries).
Sums up, the Boss ME-25 is ideal for any guitarrist that still doesnt have a preferable tone and wants to experiment a little. Its price/performance ratio is outstanding, since it gives a very good quality sound for less than 200€. It also gives the user access to a sound recording/editing software that really comes in handy. Not taking in account the power supply disadvantage, I give this product a 10 out of 10 rating.

I think the new Boss ME-25 is very good for begginers and even for people who play for a long time.
It has excellent sound, workmanship, price, handling and features!
I recommend it to a guitarist who is learning how to use effects or a experienced guitarist!

this Boss ME 25 guitar multi effect is probably one of the best, which I played. I think Boss is one of the best trademark for effects. all my guitar friends have something from Boss.
The sound is perfect. it is very useful for beginers and for professionals. I love wah pedal.
may be disadvantage is that adapter is not in this box, but you actually dont need it, because of batteries.
everyone must try this "toy"!

Very good for beginners and easy to use for more advanced players to play in small and medium concerts or live performances.
It also connects with a pc for recording.

The only negative is the quality of some sounds but remember its a multi effects processor !! If you combine them right though you will get the right sound :)
